Washburn at War

September 13th, 1:00pm hosted by Joe Yukna

15 Parsons Ln, East Falmouth | Waquoit Congregational Church

This lecture will appeal to anyone interested in what it was like living on Cape Cod during WWII. We will cover the big stories; like General Patton’s visit and Joe Louis’s boxing exhibition. Small stories, like kids scouring the shores looking for foil packets of instant coffee that their mothers craved due to rationing. Lonely soldiers ordered to release chipmunks they had captured and to return dogs they had “borrowed”.

$10.00 suggested donation to the museum.
